The form to help get Painted Dogs listed on CITES will very soon be available here.
This will help prevent the illegal trade/ export of these dogs (mainly to Chinese zoos) where they are very badly treated quite apart from being separated from their pack. Women are left alone in cages. Many die while waiting to be traded.

These dogs are wild and do not belong in zoos, especially not those where bears are whipped all day. They need to be kept in their natural environments, and farmers ensnare them, but these dogs are misunderstood. They actually help to keep the status quo in their environment. They only really hunt impala and help to keep this population as it should be to maintain the perfection of the natural environment.

100 years ago there were millions of these dogs. Now there are less than 5000.
We are deluding ourselves if we say we are not to blame.
